You really can have it
all!
Working at
Deaconess Billings Clinic you really can
have it all: Live in scenic Big Sky Country and work
at a health care organization recognized nationally
for achieving and exceeding national clinical quality
benchmarks. DBC is a progressive, not-for-profit health
care organization located in Billings, the largest
city in Montana. As a regional medical hub serving
a 250-mile radius, DBC provides specialty care to
eastern Montana, northern Wyoming and the western
Dakotas. Our 200 multi-specialty physician group practice,
272-bed hospital, and 90-bed long-term care facility
is staffed by 2,900 employees. As an ‘Employer
of Choice’, DBC is recognized nationally as
a model for developing and sustaining a culture that
links employee satisfaction with high levels of patient/guest
service.
Focus on employee culture
DBC began its dedicated journey to service
excellence seven years ago with the goal of changing
the culture of the entire organization, particularly
around employee satisfaction. In 1998, Nicholas Wolter,
MD, CEO, and the DBC leadership team began a continuing
focus on customer service as a strategic differentiator.
DBC initiated Personal Service Excellence,
a vision and philosophy that helps improve the way
employees treat each other, thereby improving the
way they treat customers. The organization’s
leadership understood that if they wanted to be true
to their vision of being dedicated to outstanding
clinical quality, patient safety and service, they
needed satisfied employees. (Employee satisfaction
surveys have shown ongoing improvement and patient
satisfaction scores have continued to improve in all
areas as well.) Employment opportunities, positive
work environment and employee culture set the stage
for a great work experience with high employee retention.
